    What is the value for Muslim life? It seems so worthless and cheap. The death toll continues to rise in Syria, yet our so called Muslim rulers continue to watch - doing nothing. They keep their barracks decorated with our armies - only to venture out if commanded by NATO or western interest! If our armies were under the control of the khilafah our ummah's life would be protected like precious gems because our ruler would have taqwa and understand his responsibility of acting as our shield that protects us from all harm.

    Syrien: Aleppo erlebt schwerste Kämpfe seit fast zwei Jahren

    Rebellen beschießen Armeestützpunkte, Regierungsjets werfen Fassbomben auf Wohnviertel: Aleppo wird von den schwersten Gefechten seit 2012 erschüttert. Die Aufständischen wollen die Geheimdienstzentrale in der Stadt einnehmen.

    Das Regime setzt derweil seine Terrorkampagne gegen die Zivilbevölkerung fort. Die Luftwaffe habe aus Hubschraubern mehrere Fassbomben über Gebiete abgeworfen, die von der Opposition gehalten werden. Fassbomben sind mit Sprengstoff und Metall gefüllte Behälter, die aus Flugzeugen und Hubschraubern abgeworfen werden. Dabei sollen nach Angaben der Syrischen Beobachtungsstelle für Menschenrechte am Samstag neun Menschen getötet worden sein.

    Papst Franziskus und der Islam

    Vor ziemlich genau einem Jahr hat Papst Franziskus sein Pontifikat übernommen. In dieser Zeit hat er viele Hoffnungen geweckt und sich insbesondere durch seine Bescheidenheit und Einfachheit viele Sympathien erworben. Das Papstrundschreiben "Evangelii Gaudium" enthält Abschnitte, die sich mit dem Islam befassen. Im Abschnitt "interreligiöser Dialog" heißt es im Punkt 252:
    "In dieser Zeit gewinnt die Beziehung zu den Angehörigen des Islam große Bedeutung, die heute in vielen Ländern christlicher Tradition besonders gegenwärtig sind und dort ihren Kult frei ausüben und in die Gesellschaft integriert leben können. Nie darf vergessen werden, dass sie sich zum Glauben Abrahams bekennen und mit uns den einen Gott anbeten, den barmherzigen, der die Menschen am Jüngsten Tag richten wird. Die heiligen Schriften des Islam bewahren Teile der christlichen Lehre; Jesus Christus und Maria sind Gegenstand tiefer Verehrung, und es ist bewunderswert zu sehen, wie junge und alte Menschen, Frauen und Männer des Islams fähig sind, täglich dem Gebet Zeit zu widmen und an ihren religiösen Riten treu teilzunehmen. Zugleich sind viele von ihnen tief davon überzeugt, dass das eigene Leben in seiner Gesamtheit von Gott kommt und für Gott ist. Ebenso sehen sie die Notwendigkeit, ihm mit ethischem Einsatz und mit Barmherzigkeit gegenüber den Ärmsten zu antworten."
    Im nächsten Abschnitt (253) finden sich die folgenden Sätze, die die "Islamkritiker" auf die Palme bringen: "Angesichts der Zwischenfälle eines gewalttätigen Fundamentalismus muss die Zuneigung zu den authentischen Anhängern des Islam uns dazu führen, gehässige Verallgemeinerungen zu vermeiden, denn der wahre Islam und eine angemessene Interpretation des Korans stehen jeder Gewalt entgegen." Wir können dem Papst für diese ausgewogenen Worte, die der üblichen Hetze entgegenstehen, durchaus dankbar sein. "Schwertverse", d.h. Stellen, in denen von Gewalt die Rede ist, gibt es in den heiligen Büchern aller Weltreligionen. Der Koran erklärt selbst, wie er interpretiert werden muss: Es gibt demnach in dem hl. Buch eindeutige und mehrdeutige Verse, wobei die mehrdeutigen von den eindeutigen her interpretiert werden müssen. (Vgl. Sure 3, Vers 7) U.a. in Sure 2,143 wird der Islam als eine "Religion der Mitte" bezeichnet. Eine solche Position der Mitte ist es, Gewalt nur zur Verteidigung einzusetzen. (MF)
