Es erzählte Abu Surwa'a Uqba ibn al-Harith (r): Ich schloss mich dem Nachmittagsgebet hinter dem Gesandten Allahs (s) in Medina an. Kaum als er das Gebet beendet hatte, stand er auf und eilte an den Reihen der Betenden vorbei zu einer seiner Kammern, so dass die Anwesenden erschraken. Als er zurückkam, erklärte er ihnen seine Eile indem er sagte: "Es fiel mir ein, dass bei uns zu Hause noch ein Stück Edelmetall (Gold oder Silber) geblieben war, und ich beeilte mich zu meiner Entlastung, und sorgte dafür, dass es rechtzeitig verteilt werde." (Al-Bukhari)
In einer anderen Version bei Al-Bukhari heißt es, dass der Gesandte Allahs (s) gesagt hat: "Ich hatte bei mir zu Hause noch ein Stück Edelmetall liegen, das zur Sadaqa bestimmt war, und ich wollte nicht, dass es noch über Nacht bei mir blieb."
