    "Oh die ihr glaubt! Fürchtet Allah, so wie man Ihn fürchten sollte." (3:102)

    "Fürchtet also Allah, so sehr ihr könnt." (64:16)

    "Oh die ihr glaubt! Fürchtet Allah und sprecht ein rechtes Wort..." (33:70)

    "Und dem, der Allah furchtet, schafft Er einen Ausweg, und versorgt ihn, von wo er nicht damit rechnet." (65:2-3)

    "Oh die ihr glaubt! Wenn ihr Allah furchtet, wird Er euch göttliche Erleuchtung zukommen lassen und eure Sünden vergeben und euch verzeihen. Und Allah ist der Herr übergroßer Huld." (8:29)

    Abu Huraira (r) berichtet: Man fragte den Gesandten Allahs (s), wer der Edelste unter den Menschen sei. Er sagte: "Der, der am gottesfurchtigsten ist!" Die Gefährten sagten: "Das ist nicht, was wir meinen." Er sagte: "Dann ist es Joseph, der Prophet Allahs, der Sohn eines Propheten Allahs (d.i. Jakob), der Enkel eines anderen Propheten Allahs (d.i. Isaak), der Urenkel eines anderen Propheten, Abrahams, des Freundes Allahs." Sie sagten. "Das ist auch nicht, was wir meinen." Der Prophet (s) sagte: "Ihr befragt mich also über arabische Stämme? Die besten von ihnen vor dem Islam sind auch im Islam die besten, vorausgesetzt, dass sie ihn richtig verstanden haben." (Al-Bukhari und Muslim)
