    Die Geschichte von Ibrahim und die Götzen seines Vaters- Teil 2

    Ich wende mich mit ganzem Herzen zu Ihm, der Himmel und Erde geschaffen hat."
    Nach dieser Erkenntnis kehrte Ibrahim zu seinem Vater und seinem Volk zurück. Allah gab ihm Weisheit und Erkenntnis und machte ihn zum Propheten. Ibrahim fing an, dem Volk die Wahrheit zu predigen:
    „Ihr und eure Väter seid dem Irrtum verfallen, denn eure Götzen
    haben nicht einmal Macht über sich selbst. Hören sie etwa, wenn ihr sie anruft? Können sie euch nützen oder schaden? In Wirklichkeit ist es Allah, der euch erschaffen hat und auch Holz und Steine, aus denen ihr mit euren eigenen Händen die Götzen macht. Wendet euch deshalb zu Ihm, denn es gibt keine wirkliche Macht außer bei Ihm, dafür bin ich ein Zeuge."
    Die Götzendiener ließen sich jedoch nicht von seiner Rede zum Nachdenken bewegen. Die einen sagten: „Du machst vielleicht Witze", und die anderen sagten: ,,Unsere Götter werden dich bestrafen, wenn du so über sie redest." Aber Ibrahim entgegnete:
    „Von der Angst vor euren leblosen Götzen bin ich frei, denn ich fürchte nichts außer Allah. Wie soll ich etwas fürchten, das keine Macht hat, ihr aber fürchtet nicht einmal den, dem die wirkliche Macht gehört? Antwortet mir, wenn ihr überhaupt etwas zu sagen habt. Wenn aber nicht, was streitet ihr dann mit mir. Wer glaubt, findet bei Allah seine Sicherheit." Die Götzendiener hörten nicht auf zu streiten, und Ibrahim sprach:
    „Die Götzen sind Menschenfeinde, ihr Weg führt ins Verderben. Ich aber vertraue auf Allah, meinen Schöpfer, den Herrn der Welten, der mich auf den rechten Weg führt, der mich sterben läßt und wieder auferweckt, und der allein mir verzeihen kann.
    Und Ibrahim betete: „Mein Herr, gib mir Weisheit und vereinige mich mit den Gerechten. Und laß spätere Generationen Gutes von mir berichten. Und laß mich unter den Erben des Gartens sein. Und vergib meinem Vater. Siehe, er gehört zu den Verirrten. Und verlaß mich nicht an dem Tag, an dem weder Vermögen noch Nachkommen den Menschen nützen sondern nur der angenommen wird, der Allah sein ganzes Herz bringt."
    An jenem Tag werden die Götzendiener zu ihren Götzen sagen:
    „Wahrhaftig, es war ein Irrtum, euch mit Allah gleichzusetzen. Wie sind wir doch verführt worden! Nun haben wir weder einen Fürsprecher noch irgendeinen Freund, der uns helfen kann. Ach, könnten wir doch in die Welt zurückkehren und Gläubige werden!" Ibrahim sah, dass er mit Worten die Götzendiener nicht einmal zum Zuhören bewegen konnte. Er mußte ihnen zeigen, was er meinte, und sprach: „Ihr werdet schon sehen, dass die Götzen nicht einmal sich selbst helfen können, und erst recht nicht anderen."
    Eines Tages fand in der Stadt ein großes Fest zu Ehren eines bestimmten Sterngötzen statt, und die Götzendiener forderten Ibrahim auf, mit ihnen zu feiern. Er aber erwiderte: „Mir ist übel geworden." Die Götzendiener bemerkten nicht die Ironie in seinen Worten und ließen ihn allein zurück, während sie zum Festplatz

    Der Prophet, Allahs Segen und Heil auf ihm, sagte: Wer immer die (folgenden) drei Eigenschaften besitzt, findet demnach die Freude am Glauben: Wenn seine Liebe zu Allah und Seinem Gesandten stärker ist, als seine Liebe zu allem Anderen, wenn seine Liebe zu einem Menschen nur Allah gewidmet ist, und wenn er den Rückfall zum Unglauben, nachdem Allah ihn davon gerettet hat, genauso verabscheut, wie er es verabscheut, ins Feuer geworfen zu werden.

    Der Prophet, Allahs Segen und Heil auf ihm, sagte: Wer immer die (folgenden) drei Eigenschaften besitzt, findet demnach die Freude am Glauben: Wenn seine Liebe zu Allah und Seinem Gesandten stärker ist, als seine Liebe zu allem Anderen, wenn seine Liebe zu einem Menschen nur Allah gewidmet ist, und wenn er den Rückfall zum Unglauben, nachdem Allah ihn davon gerettet hat, genauso verabscheut, wie er es verabscheut, ins Feuer geworfen zu werden.

    As I walked in the city centre with my daughter yesterday, I couldn't help but notice how we were getting lots of odd stares. And although I live in a city highly populated with Muslims, I feel the non-Muslims here don't like the way I dress. Yes they seem to have an issue with the khimar and jilbab.
    So as I'm walking with a toddler who is oblivious to any of this and is happily waving at everyone, I think about how I myself grew up in this country, went to school here, worked and now I have my own child but yet I'm not accepted. It made me sad that I'm being judged and none of these people actually know me but probably think I'm weird, backward etc.
    Anyway, later on yesterday I learnt about the story of the sister who was murdered in Colchester for wearing Islamic clothing. Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihirajioon. SubhanAllah it made me very sad.
    This story highlights many issues that exists in the West concerning Muslims, one being the constant anti- Muslim propaganda from politicians and the media, which is probably also the cause of why I was getting lots of horrible stares.
    All this made me think about the following hadith:

    The Prophet (saw) said: "Islam began as something strange and will revert to being strange as it began, so give glad tidings to the strangers." (Ibn Majah)

    And I think no matter how much we think we will be accepted, and no matter how much time we spend in the West trying to convince ourselves we'll be accepted, we actually never will be unless we give up what we believe in. Islam and Muslims will always be strange because we won't compromise our beliefs.
