    ‫* ائمہ کرام رحمتہ اللہ کے اتّباعِ سنت کے بارے میں اقوال *

    ١۔ امام ابو حنیفہ رحمتہ اللہ سے پوچھا گیا: "اگر آپ رحمتہ اللہ کا کوئی قول قرآن مجید کے خلاف ہو تو کیا کیا جائے؟""
    امام ابو حنیفہ رحمتہ اللہ نے جواب دیا: " قرآن مجید کے مقابلے میں میرا قول چھوڑ دو۔" پھر پوچھا گیا: " اگر آپ رحمتہ اللہ کا قول سنتِ رسول اللہ ﷺ کے خلاف ہو تو کیا کیا جائے؟ " آپ رحمتہ اللہ نے جواب دیا: "سنتِ رسول اللہ ﷺ کے مقابلے میں میرا قول چھور دو۔" پھر پوچھا گیا: " اگر آپ رحمتہ اللہ کا قول صحابہ کرام راضی اللہ عنہما کے قول کے برعکس ہو تو کیا کیا جائے؟ " انھوں نے فرمایا: " صحابہ کرام راضی اللہ عنہما کے مقابلے میں بھی میرا قول چھوڑ دو۔" (عقدِ جيد)

    ۲۔ امام شافعی رحمتہ اللہ فرماتے ہیں: " جب تم میری کتاب میں کوئی بات سنتِ رسول اللہ ﷺ کے خلاف پاوَ تو میری بات چھوڑ دو اور سنت کے مطابق عمل کرو۔" (ابن عساکر، نَوَوِى، ابن القيم)

    ۳۔ امام مالک رحمتہ اللہ فرماتے ہیں: " بلاشبہ میں بشر ہوں، میرا قول صحیح بھی ہوسکتا ہے، غلط بھی ہوسکتا ہے، لٰہزا میرے قول پر غور کرو جو کتاب وسنت کے مطابق ہو اس پر عمل کرو اور جو اس کے خلاف ہو اسے چھوڑ دو۔" (الجامع البيان العلم)

    ۴۔ امام احمد بن حنبل رحمتہ اللہ فرماتے ہیں: "جس نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کی حدیث کو رد کردیا وہ ہلاکت کے کنارے پر کھڑا ہے۔" (ابن جوزى)‬
