Allein die Grande Mosquée de Paris stellte, laut RTL, 40 Konversionszertifikate aus. In der gleichen Periode wurden letztes Jahr nur 22 ausgestellt. Auch in Strasbourg und Aubervilliers gab es etwa 30% mehr Konversionen. In Lyon beträgt die Zunahme rund 20%. Die Imame seien „überrascht" von dieser Entwicklung. Vor allem von der Vielfalt der Konvertiten. So nahmen auch ein Arzt, ein Schuldirektor und ein Polizeibeamter in der Grande Mosquée in Paris den Islam an. Kurz nach dem Anschlag auf Charlie Hebdo hatte auch die fransösiche Regisseurin Isabelle Matic auf ihrer Facebook-Seite die Konversion zum Islam bekannt gegeben.
